School Tour

The boys and girls in 3rd Class had lots of fun on their school tour. We visited the aquarium in Salthill, took a boat trip on the Corrib Princess and enjoyed a visit to the playground. We had a great day.

Sport

Hurling

We have been busy learning hurling skills with our coach every Thursday.

Football

Here we are playing football on the astro turf pitches. We are learning how to be good team players!

Rugby 

Every Friday, we practice our rugby skills with our rugby coach. We are getting really good at rugby!

Diversity Games 

Sandra, Jacopo and Aleksander represented the school at the Diversity Games in May and brought back three medals. We are very proud of their wonderful achievements.

St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day from all the pupils in 3rd class 3B. Today we celebrated 'Lá Glás'.

We have really enjoyed learning all about St. Patrick's Day traditions. We learnt a traditional Irish song called 'Trasna na Dtonnta' and perfomed it in class.

We learnt all about traditional Irish music and listened and responded to each traditional music instrument.

January in 3rd class

In January, we learned all about how we can show respect in school to our classmates, our teachers and people in the community. 

Some pupils made some respect posters to remind us to show respect to others. 

We also learned a really fun Respect song during Music. 

We discovered lots of information about the robin and completed fact files about robins. The children were keeping an eye out for robins in the school playground and on their way to school.

Chinese New Year

The children really enjoyed learning all about Chinese New Year. We know that 2022 is the year of the tiger. 

We also enjoyed making Chinese lanterns. 

Look at our amazing projects about China. We researched Chinese food, native animals and Chinese traditions.

Festive Fun

We had lots of fun this month decorating our classroom for Christmas. We learned songs, poems and read lots of Christmas stories. 

We even wrote some imaginative letters to Santa Claus to explain why the elves went on strike.

For poetry, we learned a poem called 'Snowman'.

November

During the month of November the children in Third Class have been busy doing some wonderful work. 

For Art, we used our drawing and painting skills to draw bare Winter trees. 

For SESE, we learned all about Owls. We know owls are nocturnal and and baby owls are called owlets.

We got really creative with old newspaper and made owl collages! 

The theme of this year's Anti-Bullying Week was to 'Choose Kindess'. We read the story 'Have you filled a bucket today?' and discussed ways we can be kind to others in our class.
